Emi is - hands-down – one of the most creative and beautiful people I’ve ever met. She has quite a way of channelling her passions to her dance, her jewelry, her family, her drumming, everything she does. Her own set of values and eye for detail elevate her dance classes and invigorate me even when I’ve had a long day.

I have danced with Emi for a few years and been her student for the past year or so. Her studio is always welcoming and a place where everyone feels free to be themselves, to explore new moves and the story behind the dance moves. Everything Emi does comes from her heart, including her choreographies. Nothing feels forced and each move seems to blend in to the next.

As a dance instructor, she is fun, focused, oh-so-creative, understanding and totally invested in the time she has with her students. She is a natural mover and pushes the envelope of what she can do and what she wants to do….which inspires the people around her to do the same. She takes inspiration from everything around her – a sound, a colour, a song, a favourite music video – and finds a way to move how it makes her feel through her body. There really is no over-thinking, there is exploring and expressing through movement.

Whether you have an interest in belly dancing or not, you must spend some time in Emi’s studio to experience how she blends many genres of dance and movement and intentional thinking in every move. While, at the same time, making it all feel so fluid and easy, like it is meant to happen.

It doesn’t take much time with Emi before you’ll feel like you were meant to cross paths with her.

To whom it may concern,
As a student of Emi Murakami Nault’s Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Program, I would like to express that I recommend Emi as an instructor or coordinator for any similar program or initiative.
During my time as Emi’s student during the winter of 2020, Emi demonstrated a high level of professionalism through the development of the course content, the scheduling to accommodate multiple students as well as the delivery of the course. Emi’s welcoming and enthusiastic personality shined through every interaction. She also goes above and beyond to tailor the course content and teaching techniques to accommodate all of her students’ needs...from her most advanced students to even my 77-year-old grandmother who attended a class as a drop-in student. Through my experience, Emi was dependable, ambitious, innovative and very accommodating.
Emi ensured to create a comfortable and inviting learning environment for her students and I have also witnessed that my fellow students we’re also appreciative of Emi’s teaching style and organizational skills.
