Amanda Fox is Ojibwe and a proud member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory and currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. Bringing over 30 years of experience, dancing Pow Wow since she could walk, Amanda is a cultural advocate dedicated to sharing stories and traditions through different art forms, including dance, beadwork, and sewing.
Combining her love of pow wow dance, storytelling, and Zumba, Amanda created an innovative fitness experience that promotes wholistic wellness while sharing her knowledge and experiences. Pow Wow FitNish integrates Indigenous pow wow stories, steps, and songs into an empowering fitness regimen. This program provides a fun and guided workout and ignites a platform to honor and share Indigenous culture with a broader audience. Amanda is dedicated to ensuring that participants feel safe while learning, and she takes great joy in teaching and making a meaningful impact on her learners.
In addition to leading classes, Amanda actively engages in community outreach and education, promoting cultural understanding and wellness through workshops, presentations, collaborations and as a community helper. Her work is driven by a deep respect for her culture and a desire to inspire others to embrace their own traditions and lead healthier, more balanced lives. Amanda has traveled across Canada providing workshops for conferences, community events, and private events.
Through her work, Amanda is committed to inspire and educate, ensuring that Indigenous traditions remain vibrant and relevant in contemporary society. Through her distinctive fitness experience, she empowers participants with Indigenous cultural knowledge, inspiring stories, and invigorating dance steps rooted in Indigenous traditions.
