Why I am grateful for Lorraine: I am so grateful for my amazing editor Lorraine Reguly!When I finally met her I had already... 1. Been seriously disappointed by a 'structural editor' who marked my outline like it was a high school paper. The editor was not the person I had hired (it was her assistant) and I was looking for big piece shifts and organization not grammar! 2. Been disappointed by a second 'amazing editor who worked in Hollywood on screenplays' who took a reasonably large deposit, then didn't return my emails for a month until I finally tracked her down for a refund (through the fiverr platform she advertised on—not recommended!) 3. Had 3 versions of the cover done, none of which was anything suitable. 4 Bought Hemingway (writing/editing software very sharp learning curve). 5. Spent quite a lot of money on all this! By the time Lorraine asked 'how can I help you?' I was done fooling around. I was serious. She was serious. Lorraine found everything I needed to do (and much, much more) with the end result being something I am EXTREMELY happy with, proud of, and making money on. Thanks so much Lorraine. Writing a book is an emotionally challenging task. You bear your heart and soul, and then you send your manuscript to an editor whose job is to critique your work. I braced myself for a nerve-wracking experience, but instead had a pleasant surprise. Working with Lorraine was a wonderful experience! Lorraine is thorough and has a remarkable attention to details. She took the time to explain the choices she made, so I feel more comfortable and have a chance to learn from this process!
