Mandate

We work with people, families, groups, work-teams, professional networks, and organizations to focus-in on their main areas of concern, and help them with personal growth, interpersonal wellness, and system enhancement strategies. Key areas of interest include social justice, lifestyle, mental health, addictions, and positive mindedness. Keeping up-to-date with recent knowledge, we are able to provide creative, innovative, sustainable, and evidence-based solutions.

We support personal, professional, family, and organizational growth using expertise in psychotherapy, counseling, organizational analysis, community development, and management. We bring synergy to people, groups, and community enterprise looking to assess and build upon strengths. We work collaboratively to clarify opportunities and reduce challenges. We are qualified to support people with stress, lifestyle issues and addictions, work-life balance, life’s ups-and-downs, and mental health disorders including complex trauma issues and problem gambling. We take an approach that builds capacity not dependency.

Ms. Sedgwick and I engaged in planning, delivery and design of education for staff members from Webequie First Nation. TESTIMONIAL: During Fiscal Year 2017-2018, Ms. Sedgwick supervised Trauma Team 'B' (Wapekeka First Nation) on behalf of the Sioux Lookout First Nation Health Authority and Nodin Child and Family Services' Trauma Team Project. Brenda worked in the capacity of an independent professional on short-term contract with our organization.
As Team Supervisor, Brenda participated in group orientation and community orientation meetings; and she provided orientation and was responsible for 2 culturally-based
clinician/counsellors on the rotation group that she led. In addition to team supervision, Ms. Sedgwick was responsible for organizing and providing trauma therapy with a high-risk case load of community members of all ages, families, and staff groups. During the 10-day rotations that Ms. Sedgwick provided services, she contributed hours as outlined below. These hours are in addition to Ms. Sedgwick's hours developing statistical summaries, clinical notes, and treatment plans based on individualized assessments. Total hours that Ms. Sedgwick contributed to supervising Trauma Team 'B' in Wapekeka First Nation during August 6 to October 31, 2017 are summarized below:
• August 6-8, 2017 - Trauma Team Training Participation: CEU's: 16 hours (2 days)
• Sept 2-6, 2017 -Trauma Team Community Meeting / Trauma Team Introduction: 25 hours (2.5 days)
• Sept 11-18, 2017 -Trauma Team B Rotation 1: 96 hours (8 days x 12-hour days):+ clinical / team documentation
• Oct 2-10, 2017 -Trauma Team B Rotation 2: 96 hours (8 days x 12-hour days)+ 1 extra day due to flight change/weather ( clinical reporting only)
• Oct 11-31, 2017 -Supervisory Reporting / Case Management Follow-up: 10 hours
• TOTAL HOURS SUPERVISING TRAUMA TEAM B: 233 hours of which 207 are direct­client hours and 26 are leadership meetings and staff group training.
